Start with the contract and the payment record
The financing agreement, any guarantee and the account ledger are the starting point. A description of what was discussed at a dealership may not capture every term that was signed.
We can help compare payments, charges and notices against the documents supplied. A useful review separates a calculation disagreement from a dispute about who agreed to the obligation or what security was provided.
If you receive a repossession or sale notice
Keep every page of the notice, its envelope or email and the date it was received. Record where the vehicle is located and any deadlines mentioned. The notice, contract and applicable law must be assessed before conclusions are drawn about the available remedies.
We can help identify disputed amounts, request an explanation or assess a response within permitted scope. Do not assume that contacting this office stops enforcement, and do not obstruct lawful activity. An urgent court remedy may require a lawyer.
Where insurance and financing overlap
A pending insurance claim does not by itself resolve a separate financing dispute. Keep the lender and insurer correspondence together, including any total-loss offer, payout statement and separate GAP agreement.
Any service will be defined in writing. Complex security enforcement, injunctions and proceedings outside paralegal jurisdiction may require referral. The focus here is assistance for people disputing financing or repossession issues.
Questions about this service
Does an insurance investigation suspend my loan payments?
Do not assume it does. The finance contract and insurer’s obligations need separate review.
Can you stop a repossession immediately?
An inquiry does not stop enforcement. The remedy, urgency and proper forum must be assessed; some urgent relief requires a lawyer.
